> 'Clouds on the southern mountain; rain on the northern mountain'—Xuedou buys a hat according to the head, trims his sails to the wind, and provides you with a footnote on the blade of a sword, directly bringing about 'The four-seven and two-three look each other in the face.' Do not misunderstand: this merely completes the eulogy on 'The ancient Buddha and the exposed pillar intersect—which dynamic is this?' Afterward, hacking open a path and beating about the entangling vines so you may see his intention: 'In the land of Silla, he once entered the hall; / In the land of the Great Tang, the drum has not yet sounded.' In the place where lightning flashes and stars shoot, Xuedou immediately says: 'Joy within suffering; / Suffering within joy.' It is as if Xuedou had piled up a heap of the seven treasures and eight jewels right here. Therefore, at the very end he has this phrase: 'Who says gold is like dirt and clay?' This phrase is from Chanyue's poem 'The Difficult Road', which Xuedou cited for use. Chanyue said: 'The mountain is high and the sea deep, unfathomable to man; / From ancient times to the present, turning blue and azure. / Do not associate with the shallow, near, light, and frivolous; / Low ground only knows how to produce thorns and brambles. / Who says gold is like dirt and clay? / Zhang Er and Chen Yu cut off communication. / The road is difficult! The road is difficult! / See for yourself.' For now, do not let the land be wide and people few—Yunju's Arhat.
