> The Bhagavat was once questioned by a non-Buddhist: "I do not ask about what has words; I do not ask about what is without words." The Bhagavat remained seated. The non-Buddhist praised him, saying, "The Bhagavat's great kindness and great compassion have opened the clouds of my delusion, allowing me to enter." He then bowed with full courtesy and departed. Ānanda then asked the Buddha, "What did the non-Buddhist realize that he praised you and departed?" The Bhagavat said, "Like a fine horse of the world, running at the mere shadow of the whip."
