Lifting and subduing have always been known to the adept;
In this, a single word hangs down at both ends.
Sharing birth and death, when will it be understood?
Releasing both and gathering both causes the whole world to doubt.
The moonlight that reflects the belly sinks into the azure ether;
The surging sea striking heaven submerges Mount Sumeru.
Hearing the Shao music and forgetting the taste of food, there is joy to spare;
Only then does one recognize the poet's wonder beyond the lines.
