Because a monk asked, "What is the phrase that penetrates the Dharmakāya?"
the master said, "Hiding one's body within the Northern Dipper."
Senior Monk Fulang could not fathom its meaning, so he went to see him.
As soon as the master saw him, he seized him and said, "Speak! Speak!"
As Lang was about to deliberate, the master pushed him away and gave a gāthā, saying:
"Yunmen towers steep, the white clouds hang low;
The current is swift, swimming fish dare not abide.
Knowing well the views you brought as you entered the gate,
Why trouble to raise again the mud between the ruts?"
Lang had a great awakening. (From Guangdeng lu).
