The staff carried horizontally across the shoulders, the universe is wide;
Wherever one can linger, one lingers awhile.
Water flows from the eastern ravine towards the western ravine;
Clouds rise from the southern peak and descend to the northern peak.
Using a needle of crude iron from Yun, he embroiders the brocade of Shu;
Jade leaves from ancient pines fall into a plate of pearls.
In whirls and turns, not intending to pass through the lingering rain,
With feet buried in mud and mire, crossing Uttarakuru.
