> Answer: It is only because of what is grasped through emotion that it ends up as falsity. Because grasping is fundamentally empty, the false is precisely not false. As the Commentary on the Awakening of Faith says: "That which is grasped is fundamentally empty, and the true mind is unmoving—the two alternately establish each other. It is solely because that which is grasped is fundamentally empty that the true mind is unmoving; it is solely because the true mind is unmoving that that which is grasped can be fundamentally empty. How is this different from the ten thousand forms being fundamentally empty while the bright mirror does not move? What is meant by the true and the false alternately establishing each other? Because delusion about the true gives rise to the false, the false is established on account of the true; when one awakens to the false being identical to the true, the true is revealed through the false."
