> Answer: There is neither principal nor auxiliary, neither self nor other. If you seek wisdom by means of wisdom, it turns into an intellectual understanding; intellectual understanding goes against the perfect source. If you give rise to an illuminating mind, illumination immediately establishes an object; following illumination, you lose the purport. These are all phenomenal displays that do not tally with this source. If you understand the true mind, naturally with no-mind you unite with the Way. When you unite with the Way, the path of speech is cut off. With no-mind, object and wisdom are both idle. As Layman Pang's verse says: / Mount Sumeru collapses, the Five Peaks crumble, / The great ocean dries up, the ten directions are empty. / Heaven and earth are still contained inside the tip of a hair; / Sun and moon are yet concealed within the ūrṇā mark. / This is the son of \[the sage\] Nadi from the Western Country / Manifesting illness, not rising, displaying spiritual powers. / Wondrous Virtue opened his mouth to ask about non-duality; / Forgetting words and entering the principle reveals the true source.
