> Answer: For the sake of inferior sentient beings, from within the inexhaustible exposition, this much was briefly gathered and compiled to circulate; therefore this division exists, causing them to see and hear it, and expediently leading them into the boundless. Just as peering through a chink in a window one sees boundless empty space, you should know that the principle here is also like this: looking upon this single division, one sees the boundless ocean of Dharma. Therefore know that if one lifts the guideline and grasps the essentials, a single dust mote still contains the dharmadhātu, and a single character expounds the boundless, how much more so the teachings of the nine assemblies and the three cycles? For one who understands like this, one time is all times, and one exposition is all expositions.
