As explained in the Tiantai teachings: cultivating the unconditioned samādhi and contemplating the true reality of tathatā, one does not see conditioning cultivation making a buddha, nor does one see real cultivation making a buddha, nor does one see the union of both real and conditioning cultivations making a buddha, nor does one make a buddha apart from the two cultivations of the real and the conditioning.
