> Answer: It means that from beginningless time, this body and the seeds have existed simultaneously, like the seeds of external grass and trees. Furthermore, an ancient master explained the meaning of perfuming seeds: 'Although dharmas have two kinds, new and old, when they are to produce the actualized, they either arise from the new or arise from the old, and thus are named two kinds of seeds. It does not mean that the two kinds simultaneously produce a single actualized \[state\] in one moment. If that were so, there would be the fault of multiple seeds co-producing a single sprout. By this, one should know that the seeds of the nimittabhāga of form and so forth are all the same as this.'
