答。除二宗不極成色外。取立敵共許。餘一切色。總為唯識。故因明疏云。立二所餘共許諸色為唯識故。宗後陳言。定不離眼識。是極成能別。

> Answer: Excluding the matter not universally established by the two traditions, one takes the remaining all forms of matter jointly accepted by proponent and opponent together as consciousness-only. Therefore, the commentary on Hetuvidyā states: 'Because all the remaining jointly accepted forms of matter of both parties are established as consciousness-only.' The predicate-phrase of the thesis states: 'definitely not separate from visual consciousness,' which is a universally established qualifier (prasiddha-viśeṣaṇa).
