Dharma Master Fuli says: 'Regarding the contemplation of the meaning of karma: karma arises due to the mind, and the mind is used by karma. Karma leads the mind to receive form, and the mind follows karma to produce objects. As such, because of karma one receives a body, and the body in turn creates karma; following the mind, objects are produced, and objects in turn give rise to mind. It is like a shadow following a form in its crookedness or straightness, or like an echo following a sound in its magnitude.'
