> Answer: "These are passages that shatter greedy attachment and grasping; they do not pertain to the phenomena of causes and conditions. The Vimalakīrtinirdeśa Sūtra says: 'Only eliminate the illness, but do not eliminate the Dharma.' The Vajrasamādhi Sūtra says: 'There are two entrances: first, entrance by principle; second, entrance by practice.' One guides practice by means of principle, and one consummates principle by means of practice. Furthermore, bodhi enters non-practice by means of practice. 'By means of practice' means taking all good dharmas as conditions; 'non-practice' means not grasping any good dharmas. How could one be obstructed by principle and diminish practice, or cling to practice and violate principle?"
