> Those entering the infirmary hall inform the dormitory host, and hang the tea offering plaque. On the left side of the plaque a small strip of paper is pasted, reading: "So-and-so bows and invites the venerable assembly of the dormitory to proceed to the upper dormitory after the midday meal." When the meal is over, preparing incense and candles, they greet all together with folded hands. He bows to the dormitory host to occupy the host's seat, while the person offering tea occupies the guest's seat. Sitting briefly, he gets up, burns incense, and greets with folded hands. Sitting down again, tea is served and the cups are gathered. The dormitory host stands before the incense burner to thank him. / When someone leaves the infirmary hall to fill the post of a prefect, after the tea offering for the succession is concluded, on another day he orders the tea master to inform the dormitory host to hang the tea offering plaque. When the midday meal is over, the small clapper in the dormitory is struck. The person offering tea stands outside the door on the right, bowing to the assembly as they enter, and greets with folded hands before the incense burner. The dormitory host takes the host's seat, and the person offering tea takes the opposite seat. Sitting briefly, he gets up, burns incense, and greets with folded hands. Sitting down again, the tea having been presented, the dormitory host and the assembly get up before the incense burner to express thanks, and see the person offering tea out. / When someone leaves the communal dormitory to fill the post of a prefect, he orders the tea master to inform the dormitory host beforehand to hang the tea offering plaque. When the midday meal is over, the clapper is struck. He first arrives outside the communal dormitory door, stands on the right, and bows to the assembly. Once they enter their places and stand still, he greets with folded hands and bows them to their seats. Advancing to the middle and the upper and lower bays, he burns incense, and again greets with folded hands in the middle and upper and lower bays. Still in the center, he greets the dormitory head with folded hands, who bows to the person offering tea. They sit in facing seats. When the serving of tea is concluded, the dormitory head comes before the incense burner to express thanks, and sees him out. / For those entering the communal dormitory who offer tea (the etiquette is the same as for tea offered upon leaving the dormitory), except that the dormitory head and dormitory senior divide the guest and host seats; he himself must not enter a seat to sit.
