- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [5.46](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2025.5.46)

相傳前輩見僧有偏衫而無裙。有裙而無偏衫。遂合二衣為直裰。然普化索木直裰。大陽傳革履布裰。古亦有矣。

> Tradition holds that seniors of earlier times saw monks who had the side-seamed jacket but no skirt, or had a skirt but no side-seamed jacket, and thereupon joined the two garments into the straight robe. However, Puhua asked for a wooden straight robe, and Dayang transmitted leather sandals and a cloth straight robe, so it existed in antiquity as well.
