> During the reign of Emperor Daizong of the Tang, he was posthumously titled Chan Master Yuangue, and his pagoda was called Kongguan (Master Fang's Letter on Distinguishing the Patriarchs states: "Zhiju composed the Baolin zhuan, which claimed the return to the west with a single shoe, standing in the snow and severing the arm to receive the Dharma, and verse prophecies—all of which differ from the Biographies of Monks. Some consider these to be fabrications attributed by later people").
