> In the first year of Baoying, the nun Zhenru of Henan fled the turmoil of An Lushan to take refuge in Chuzhou. On a moonlit night, two black-robed figures led her eastward to ascend to heaven. Reaching a great city, she met the Heavenly Emperor (presumably Śakra, Lord of the Gods) and the various heavenly kings (presumably the Thirty-Two Heavenly Kings and the Heavenly Kings of the Four Gates), who said to one another: 'In the world below there is turmoil and devastation, and the slaughter is excessive. Let us protect their country with the treasures of the second vault.' They then gave Zhenru the names of the treasures and the methods for protection in full detail, and commanded the two previous officials to guide her back. Zhenru reported this with a statement to the prefecture. The treasures were thirteen in number, all white jade and precious pearls. Placed in the sun, their white light reached up to heaven; at night, they shone like the moon. Their names were the Dark-and-Yellow Heavenly Tally, the Grain Bi-Disk, the Wish-Fulfilling Pearl, the Jade Seal, the Jasper Gem, and others. The Prefect Cui Shen presented them in a memorial. The Emperor said to the Crown Prince: 'High Heaven favors and blesses the virtuous; only they can be worthy of it. You entered as Crown Prince from being the Prince of Chu. Now Chuzhou has presented treasures; Heaven intends to bless you.' Thereupon he handed all the treasures over to him, changed the era name to Baoying, bestowed upon Zhenru the title of Grand Preceptor of Precious Harmony, and ordered the founding of Baoying Jinlun Temple in Chang'an.
