> In the sixth year \[973\], in the eighth month, Chan Master Yanzhao of Fengxue in Ru Prefecture manifested nirvanic quiescence. The Master had received the Dharma from Nanyuan (the eighth generation below Nanyue). / The Administrator of Fu Prefecture (pronounced fu; Fuyan Circuit), Wang Guicong, submitted a memorial stating that the Tripiṭaka Master Fatian of Central Tianzhu had arrived, and translated the Sūtra of the Noble Immeasurable Longevity and the Praises of the Seven Buddhas. The Sanskrit-studying śramaṇa Fajin of Hezhong Prefecture took up the brush and compiled the text, and Guicong polished the style. An imperial edict summoned Fatian to the palace for an audience, where he was consoled and granted a purple square robe.
