> An edict dispatched an envoy to send a golden brocade kāṣāya to Zhongge Monastery on Mount Luofu in Huizhou to honor the auspicious image of Śākyamuni, and further established a bodhimaṇḍa to pray for blessings for the state. This moved auspicious birds of five colors to gather at the feast site. This statue was eight feet high and came from the Western Heavens. During the Kaihuang era of the Sui dynasty, the monk Huixi installed it at Longhua Monastery. During the Huichang destruction, the miraculous efficacy of the statue could not be destroyed, so Daoists hid it in Duxu Abbey. During the Xiantong era, Wei Zhou, Military Commissioner of Hainan, welcomed it to Zhongge Monastery.
