> The appraisal says: The historians of the Northern History, Jiang Shen and others, recorded the affairs of Gentleman Li with such thorough detail. Was this not because their minds held the Buddha's virtue, exhausted their own sincerity, and dared not deceive those who would come after? Shi Qian compared the Three Teachings to the sun, moon, and stars; at first glance, there might seem to be superiority and inferiority, yet when it comes to illuminating the world and revolving sentient life, their virtue is one. If one of these three were lacking, stable establishment could not be achieved. Therefore the Book of Changes states: "The way of Qian changes and transforms, each rectifying its nature and destiny." How worthy was Gentleman Li! I see that he was profound in the great source of nature and destiny.
