> (26. Bingxu) The era was changed to Tiancheng. Mingzong Siyuan ascended the throne (his ancestry was originally of the barbarians, having no surname. His father Dian was an infantry commander at Yanmen and fathered a son named Miaojilie. Taizu Keyong adopted him as a son, giving him the surname Li and the personal name Siyuan. Initially, when the Emperor reached Yedu, the army suddenly raised a great clamor, saying: "We request that the Lord Duke be Emperor of Hebei!" Shi Jingtang and Kang Yicheng urged Siyuan forward. Siyuan then ordered An Chonghui to issue a call to assemble the troops, and their military power grew immense. Siyuan occupied Daliang. At that time, Guo Congqian, the director-in-chief of the Congma Direct Guard, unaware that King of Mu Cunren was already dead, wished to support him in launching a rebellion. Zhuangzong, struck by a stray arrow, passed away under the eaves of the Jiangxiao Hall. His actor-friends collected the musical instruments beneath the eaves, covered Zhuangzong's corpse with them, and burned it. When Siyuan ascended the throne, he collected Zhuangzong's bones and buried them in a stone tomb; at that time he was already sixty years old. Every night in the palace he burned incense and announced to Heaven, praying that a sage might be born early to be the ruler of the people. He occupied the throne for eight years. Later, he was killed by his ministers Zhu Hongzhao and others, and was buried in the Hui Mausoleum).
