> (Cycle 8) Qi was the son of Yu (his mother transformed into a stone; another account says he was born from within a stone). He was enthroned in the guilwei year and reigned for 9 years (one account says 10 years). He offered the suburb and ancestral sacrifices to the ancestors (the ancestral dǐ-sacrifice was to the Yellow Emperor as Cultured Ancestor; the suburb sacrifice was to Gun matching Heaven as Ancestor; Zhuanxu was worshipped as the Patriarch matching the Cultured Ancestor as Great Patriarch; and Yu was worshipped as the Progenitor and Father). Qi established temples, ancestral shrines, and altars for offerings: Great Progenitor Yu \[had\] five temples (two zhāo and two mù).
