> (7. Guichou) In this year the Indian śramaṇa Zhu Foshuo arrived in Luoyang. He translated the Daoxing banruo jing, discarding ornate rhetoric and retaining the substance, penetrating deeply into the meaning of the scripture. In the Guanghe reign era, together with Zhi Qian, he translated the Pratyutpanna-samādhi-sūtra in a total of three fascicles. In this year, the Parthian upāsaka and Chief Commandant An Xuan arrived in the capital Luoyang, and together with the pure-faith layman Yan Fotiao, translated seven works of scriptures. At that time there were also the śramaṇas Zhi Yao, Kang Ju, Kang Mengxiang, Tanguo, and Zhu Dali, all of whom were skilled in regional vernaculars. By the end of the Han dynasty, more than three hundred works of scripture in all had been translated.
