> (8. Jiazi; 48) The reign era was changed to Zhongping. ○ Taoism began the Yellow Turban rebellion (originally Zhang Jue of Julu used magical arts to heal illnesses and plotted rebellion, calling himself the Great Worthy and Good Teacher, and also the Yellow Heaven. In not many years he rallied 360,000 men, all wearing yellow turbans. In the jiazi year they rose up simultaneously and slaughtered people; in the kuiwei year of Jian'an, they burned commanderies and counties. The court and the provinces were terrified. The General of the Household of the Left, Huangfu Song, was appointed to suppress and destroy them; Zhang Jue died of illness, and his corpse was beheaded. His two younger brothers were both defeated in battle, completely executed, and their heads delivered to the capital).
