> Second, the letter from Emperor Wu of Jin, Yao, said: 'The Emperor respectfully inquires after Upādhyāya Lang of Mount Tai. Your sagacious virtue illuminates the times, and your fame flies to the Eastern Peak, so much so that I contemplate nourishing all living beings together with the Upādhyāya. The perfected person penetrates the subtle; I presume you understand my intention. Now I dispatch an envoy to present one image of five-colored pearls, fifty bolts of radiant brocade, five sets of ivory mats, and five gold alms bowls. Upon arrival, I pray you will receive and accept them.'
