> Fourth, the letter from Emperor Daowu, Taizu of Wei: 'The Emperor respectfully inquires after Upādhyāya Lang of Mount Tai. Inheriting the wondrous sacred spirit, there must be strategic management; I have already commanded the grand army. The Superior Man's virtue equals the seas and mountains, and his spiritual calculations reach far. I hope you will assist my majestic plans to subdue and bring peace to the desolate frontiers. Now I dispatch an envoy to present twenty bolts of plain silk, fifty pieces of white cotton cloth, and three silver alms bowls. Upon arrival, I pray you will receive and accept them.'
