> (Thirty-four) The śramaṇa Dhyāna Master Huiwen walked alone between the Yellow and Huai rivers during the reign of Qi Gaozu. His Dharma gate was not understood by worldly people; living beneath heaven and upon the earth, none knew its heights and depths. He is the Second Patriarch of the Tiantai school, the Venerable of Northern Qi. (Account of the Nine Patriarchs.)
