> Gongnie was the son of King Xuan. He doted on Baosi and believed the slanders of Guo Shifu, deposing Queen Shen and exiling Crown Prince Yijiu to Shen. He made Baosi queen, who gave birth to their son Yu. The king favored and trusted Baosi. Troops of the Western Rong killed the king at the foot of Mount Li and captured Baosi. The king was on the throne for eleven years. The Duke of Guo established Prince Yu, but the people of the state were disobedient. Before a year had passed from his enthronement, Marquis Wen of Jin killed Yu; he was called King Xie. The feudal lords went to the state of Shen and enthroned the former Crown Prince Yijiu; he was called King Ping (the dates above precede the Spring and Autumn period).
