> The śramaṇa Zhu Fatai of Jin stayed at Waguan Monastery in Jiankang. The Emperor deeply revered him and invited him to lecture on the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā Sūtra. The Emperor personally graced the lecture, dukes and high ministers gathered in full, and both monks and laity admired and respected him. In the twelfth year of the Taiyuan era under Emperor Wu, Tai entered quiescence at the age of sixty-eight. Emperor Wu decreed: 'Dharma Master Tai's Way was broadcast across the eight directions. Suddenly he has passed away. One hundred thousand cash may be presented as a funerary contribution, and the officials in charge shall handle all funeral matters' (His Biography).
