- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.26](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2037.3.26)

帝謂傅奕曰。佛道徼妙。聖跡可師。且報應顯然。屢行徵驗。卿獨不悟其理何也。奕對忤旨。帝惡之。自是終身不齒（唐舊史）。

> The Emperor said to Fu Yi, "The Way of the Buddha is profound and subtle, and the traces of its sageliness can serve as a guide. Moreover, its retribution is manifest, its signs and verifications repeatedly demonstrated. Why is it that you alone do not awaken to its principle?" Yi's reply offended the imperial will; the Emperor despised him, and from then on regarded him as unworthy of notice for the rest of his life (Old History of the Tang).
