> In the ninth month in Jin, Empress Dowager Zhao fell ill. The king visited to inquire after her health, and Noble Consort Zheng also arrived. The Empress Dowager said, 'I have one cherished wish that remains unfulfilled; can the Noble Consort accomplish my intention? Three to four hundred members of my family were killed by Prince Yang (namely Prince Yang of Hailing), and their mass grave is at Helong (namely Huanglong Prefecture of the Murong clan of Yan). I wish to establish a monastery there to dedicate merits for them in the afterlife and offer seasonal sacrifices. I do not dare waste public funds; I have seventy thousand coins of my own that can manage it. Speak of this to the emperor.' After ten days, the Empress Dowager passed away. The Noble Consort divided her remains among internal and external marital relatives and the various Zhaos near and far in the capital. She submitted a memorial requesting an imperial edict be sent to Helong Prefecture to build Daming Monastery, construct a nine-tiered stūpa, and dispatch the Empress Dowager's palace eunuch Hou Yan to oversee construction, striving for supreme magnificence; furthermore, thirty thousand monks were ordained with ordination certificates, reaching as many as fifty thousand men ordained. Beside the monastery, eight monasteries were built to house them (from the Jinzhi).
