> At that time, there was an elder's son named Yaśas, who was intelligent, of sharp faculties, and extremely wealthy, foremost in Jambudvīpa. He wore celestial crowns and necklaces, and put on priceless jeweled sandals. In the middle of the night, having made merry with various courtesans, they each returned to sleep. Suddenly awakening from sleep, he saw the courtesans: some sleeping face-down, some sleeping on their backs, their hair disheveled, their saliva flowing out, and their musical instruments and ornaments lying scattered topsy-turvy. Seeing this, he gave rise to a mind of revulsion, thinking to himself, "I am now amidst these calamities and horrors, falsely conceiving purity within what is impure." Do you know this or not?" When Yaśas heard these words spoken, he immediately, with regard to all phenomena, left dust and defilement behind and attained the pure Dharma-eye. Thereupon, the Tathāgata repeated the four truths, and Yaśas's outflows were exhausted, his mind was liberated, he attained mental mastery, and he realized the fruit of arhatship. He immediately answered the Buddha, saying, "World-Honoured One, form, feeling, perception, volitional formations, and consciousness are truly impermanent, suffering, empty, and non-self." At that time, the Tathāgata, still seeing Yaśas wearing bodily adornments, spoke a verse:
