Their roots and branches were lush and thick, equal in girth and size, piercing the earth and soaring straight up to become wondrous trees. Those of reasoned understanding considered them to be precious sāla trees. Being able to shine brilliantly upon Nirvāṇa was what \[Seng\]yu had aspired to, and thus this proof manifested. Because of this, he was titled the "Twin Wutong Śramaṇa." Zhang Bian of Wujun, who was Senior Clerk of Pingnan, witnessed this event in person and composed a biography and encomium in full detail.
