> Zhu Fachun was a person of unknown origins. He left household life in his youth and stayed at Xianyi Temple in Shanyin. He was virtuous in austere practice and excelled at reciting the Ancient Vimalakīrti-sūtra. During the Yuanxing reign period of the Jin, he went to Lanzhu on behalf of the temple to buy an old building. Returning at dusk, he encountered wind on the lake while in a small boat. Fachun single-mindedly relied upon Guanshiyin, reciting without cease. Soon he saw a large drifting boat; he boarded it and was saved. Reaching the shore, he inquired after the boat, but it had no owner, and in a moment it vanished. Clergy and laity alike marveled at this divine response. His end is not known.
