> Shixing eventually died in Khotan at the age of eighty. In accordance with the Western method, he was cremated; when the firewood was exhausted and the fire extinguished, his corpse was still completely intact. The assembly was astonished and marveled, whereupon someone chanted an incantation, saying: 'If he truly attained the Way, according to the Dharma it should disintegrate.' In response to the words, it shattered and dispersed, whereupon they gathered the bones and erected a stūpa for them. Later, his disciple Fayi came from that country and personally related this matter; therefore Sun Chuo's 'Treatise on the True and Image \[Dharma\]' states: 'Shixing dissolved his form in Khotan.' It refers to this.
