> Later, Tandi read widely through the canonical scriptures, remembering whatever met his eyes. In his later years, he entered the Huqiu Temple in Wu, where he lectured on the Book of Rites, the Book of Changes, and the Spring and Autumn Annals seven times each, and on the Lotus Sūtra, the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra, and the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa-sūtra fifteen times each. He was also skilled at composing literary works, and an anthology \[of his writings\] in six fascicles circulated in the world. Being fond of forests and springs by nature, he later returned to Wuxing and entered Mount Kunlun in Guzhang, living in leisure and drinking from mountain streams for over twenty years. He died at his mountain retreat at the end of the Yuanjia era of the Song, aged over sixty.
