> Shi Dashan was a disciple of Dhyāna Master \[Hui\]si. He resided at Bore Temple on Nanyue. He made chanting the Lotus Sūtra his practice; only after three days would he finish one complete copy. In addition, he cultivated the Samantabhadra Repentance: for seven days heavenly flowers rained down. Further, he entered the samādhi of loving-kindness and compassion, enabling cornered deer to escape.
