- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.38](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2068.4.38)

> The monk Fachang single-mindedly recited the Lotus Sūtra, finding no joy in human society. Constantly wandering among the mountains and forests, he eventually secluded himself on Mount Bailu. Reciting constantly day and night, he moved a young boy to come regularly and provide him with cakes, cooked rice, and the like, which appeared spontaneously. When his end drew near, purple clouds towered over the mountain, and a wondrous fragrance filled the mountain. His corpse was placed beneath a cliff. After many years passed, the rest of his skeleton withered and rotted, but his tongue remained as before. Those who saw it rejoiced in it.
