The younger śrāmaṇera said to the elder śrāmaṇera, “Brother, cultivate the Pure Land practice, how about it?” The śrāmaṇera rejoiced and shared his aspiration. After fifteen years, the elder one died first. Arriving in the Western Pure Land, he saw Amitābha Buddha and said, “I have a younger brother; can he be reborn here?” The Buddha said, “Because of him you gave rise to the aspiration; even you can be reborn, so why doubt him?
