> The boy Wei Shizan, fourteen years of age, was a native of Yongzhou. He served Dhyāna Master Jing and generated the bodhicitta to practice buddhamanasikāra continuously day and night. In the third year of Yonghui, he encountered an illness and his life ended. Reviving, he addressed his mother, saying, “Amitābha Buddha can now be seen right here; your son is following to attain rebirth.” Having spoken these words, he died. Neighbors to the east and west saw five-colored radiance soaring into the clouds westward above the deceased's house.
