> Huitong of the Jin dynasty studied under Dhyāna Master Huishao of Liangzhou, receiving instruction in the methods of dhyāna, and pledged his heart to Peaceful Nourishment. Falling slightly ill, he saw in dhyāna concentration a person of exceedingly dignified form, who said to Tong: "The auspicious time has arrived." Shortly thereafter, he saw Amitābha Buddha's light blazing brilliantly. Emerging from concentration, he informed his fellow students, and peacefully passed away. The extraordinary fragrance ceased only after three days.
