> The appraisal says: Preceptor Shandao is traditionally transmitted in the world as an incarnation of Amitābha. Observing the strictness and purity of his own practice and the breadth of his benefit to sentient beings, even after ten thousand generations he can still evoke and awaken people’s faithful minds. If he were not Amitābha, he must certainly be of the peerage of Avalokiteśvara or Samantabhadra! Ah, how great he was!
