> Old Man Xu the Sixth of the Song dynasty was a native of Jiaxing. He farmed for his livelihood. The husband and wife ate vegetarian food and practiced buddhamanasikāra with diligence. For forty years, he had prepared a casket in advance. Approaching the end, he changed into cloth robes and straw sandals, entered the casket, and sat upright. After a moment he said, 'The Buddha has come to welcome me,' and thereupon passed away.
