> Old Grandfather Lotus of the Great Ming was a native of Yue. Throughout his life he was simple and unpolished, only practicing buddhamanasikāra day and night without interruption. After his life ended, a single branch of lotus flower suddenly grew atop his coffin. His relatives and neighbors marveled in sighing praise, and therefore called him Old Grandfather Lotus.
