> In the Song dynasty, the Lady of Suitable Deportment Lu was a person of Qiantang, the wife of Court Gentleman Wang Yu. She used to recite the Lotus Sūtra and set her mind earnestly on the Pure Land. For thirty years, she performed a session of bowing repentance and chanted the Buddha's name ten thousand times each day. Owing to a slight illness, she suddenly heard heavenly drums naturally sounding. Just as people were marveling in astonishment, she sat upright facing west, formed a mudrā with both hands, and passed away.
