> Great Master Guangxu Zhide of Yunfeng on Mount Tiantai ascended the hall and said, "It is merely that sentient beings use it daily without knowing it. For example, the sun, moon, stars, constellations, rivers, streams, Huai, and Ji of the great trichiliocosm, and all sentient beings, enter from one pore into another pore. The pore is not small; the world is not large. The sentient beings within it are unconscious and unaware. If you want to understand easily: you sthaviras also use it daily without knowing it." A monk asked, "In the daytime the monk carries the statue; at night the statue carries the monk. I wonder, what is the meaning of this?" The Master said, "Haven't you, ācārya, come from the tea hall?"
