> Grand Master Wang of Weizhou: his given name is lost. Having lost his spouse, he became weary of worldly phenomena. He then called upon Yuanfeng and under his words knew his homecoming. One day Feng said to him, "You are indeed the Lu Gen of today." The gentleman then covered his ears. Soon after, he returned to the sunny south of Mount Tan, where he tied thatched grass to live alone for three years. He occasionally sang: / "How long the days inside Mount Tan! / Ridge of green pines, homeland of white clouds; / Singing birds and crying gibbons make the bodhimaṇḍa. / With hair unbound, gathering fern, I sing and laugh again; / Let people say this rustic fellow is mad."
