> Chan Master Xuwai of Huazang in Wuzhou. A monk asked: 'Knowing that the Master has long stored the jewel in his sack, today before the feast I wish to borrow it for a look.' The Master said: 'Twitch your eyebrows.' The monk said: 'After seeing it, what then?' The Master said: 'How clearly evident!' As the Master was about to pass away, he had a verse: 'A young stone woman holds a gold ring; / A one-horned rhinoceros enters Mount Hua. / Pāpīyān claps his hands with a hearty laugh; / The blue-eyed foreigner crosses the Iron Barrier.' Having finished speaking, he sat cross-legged and passed away.
