> Chan Master Caoyuan Sheng of Jianfu in Raozhou was a native of Nanjian. He held a divided seat at Yunju, became abbot at Miaoguo, and moved to Guifeng. Later, he lived at Jianfu for over a month and passed away. Chanting on the Lingyun Stone, he had a gāthā that said: 'Clouds coming and clouds going are not intentional; / Clouds coming and clouds going are also without mind. / Cutting off being and non-being, where is the miraculous? / Towering lofty, a solitary peak has been blue until now.'
