> Chan Master Jieshi Ming of Shuanglin in Wuzhou, upon seeing a portrait of Mountain Master Yu, was asked by a nearby monk for a eulogy. Writing freely, the Master penned: 'Picking up a bright pearl, smiling eyes open wide; / Saying that when the dust is gone, dust only rises all the more. / Were there no one to directly take responsibility, / It would have failed the ācārya's single tumble.'
